You can check your router's hardware version by logging into the web configuration utility and navigating to the System Summary page. Since you mentioned that your device is silver, it sounds like it's one of the older ones (with Linksys branding on the top) and therefore not supported by this firmware version. There are multiple versions of the RV042 router, and each iteration is supported by different firmware versions (version 1 uses 1.x firmware, version 2 uses 2.x, and so on).
